    If you add your desired belt loop size in the comment section of the order form, I will add a belt block to the holster so the holster does not ride up when the revolver is drawn.

    The holster shown is available immediately – custom dyed to represent a holster that has been used – not abused. Sometimes, I make holsters just for fun. Or to see if I like a specific design. This holster was fun to build and looks and works great! Ships within days of your order.

    This holster is made from 2 layers of vegetable tanned leather. This is important because vegetable tanned leather will not tarnish your firearm as other methods of tanned leather are prone to do.

    The holster has a large belt opening to fit over bullet loops.

    One of the earliest holster patterns, the California Slim Jim came about during the California gold rush of the late 1850’s.
    Throughout the mid-late 1800’s the pattern changed very little, remaining with a slim, gun contouring fit with an attached belt loop.

    The Slim Jim is known for its simple construction, typically featuring a single loop for the belt and an open top for a fast draw.
    It’s a popular choice for historical reenactors and those who appreciate the Old West aesthetic.

    These were typically made starting around 1870.

    I found an image of this unusual Mexican Loop holster on the net somewhere. So, I thought I’d make one to see how it actually looked first hand. Then, I found a pattern on the Tandy Leather Compay website that looked very similar. This style has has a sewn and riveted loop instead of the traditional cut loop. Some call this style the “Dodge City” holster.
