The Movie:
“The Outlaw Josey Wales” (1976), directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, tells the story of a Missouri farmer whose life is shattered by the Civil War. After witnessing the brutal murder of his family by Union soldiers, Josey Wales joins a Confederate guerrilla band to seek revenge.

The war ends, but Wales refuses to surrender, becoming an outlaw pursued by vengeful Union Captain Terrill and his Redlegs. He embarks on a journey westward, gathering a makeshift family of outcasts along the way, including an old Cherokee man, Lone Watie, and a young Navajo woman.

Wales’s journey is one of survival and redemption. He is a man haunted by loss and driven by a fierce sense of justice. Despite his violent past, he displays compassion and loyalty towards his companions. The film explores themes of revenge, forgiveness, and the search for peace in a turbulent time.
